| Am letzten August-Wochenende feiert Cochem das Heimat- und Weinfest, das zu den größten und schönsten an der Mosel zählt. An der Moselpromenade und in Cochems „guter Stube”, dem Marktplatz, wird ausgiebig gefeiert. An den zahlreichen Weinständen können edle Rieslingweine und spritzige Rieslingsekte verkostet werden. Auf zwei Bühnen sorgen viele Musikkapellen und Showbands für erstklassige Unterhaltung. Und natürlich kommt auch das leibliche Wohl nicht zu kurz. Höhepunkt ist jeweils der Sonntag. Um 14:00 Uhr startet der große Festumzug durch die Straßen und Gassen der Cochemer Innenstadt. Und dann ist es um 22:00 Uhr wieder so weit: Beim großen Brillant-Feuerwerk, abgeschossen im Wechsel von der Reichsburg und von der Mosel, erwartet alle Gäste ein spektakulärer Farben- und Lichterrausch.  Cochem Heritage & Wine Festival 2012 Aug 23 thru 27, 2012During the last August weekend, Cochem celebrates its Heritage & Wine Festival, one of the largest and finest throughout the Mosel. The Mosel Promenade, Cochem's „snuggery”, the ancient Market and the area between is one large fairground. A wide variety of noble Riesling wines and sparkling Riesling champagnes await you at lots of wine booths to be tasted and savoured. On two stages numerous bands and show bands provide first-class entertainment. And of course, a big selection of food and refreshments is not forgotten. Sunday offers two highlights: at 2:00 AM the big procession through the streets and alleys of downtown Cochem starts, and at 10:00 PM it is so far - the spectecular Great Brilliant fireworks are shotten from the Reichsburg Castle and from the Mosel in change, a unique frenzy of colors and lights.
